To alleviate the parking problem in Pingtung City, a multi-story parking garage will be built in the century-old Pingtung Park. Two parking areas are planned with a total of 458 parking spaces. The project will start construction in May and is expected to be completed and put into use in December 2021.

Another underground two-story parking garage will be built on the site on Renai Road, with a total floor area of 11,200 square meters, which can accommodate 355 cars and 45 motorcycles. The ground floor is designed as a multi-functional sports field suitable for large-scale sports events and weekend creative markets.
The Pingtung County Government's Department of Transportation and Tourism stated that the county government has obtained funding from the Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Plan to improve parking problems. The Taiwan Provincial Department of Transportation provided a subsidy of NT$296.54 million, and the county government raised NT$228.10 million, with a total project cost exceeding NT$524.76 million, to create a high-efficiency parking space with intelligent management and green energy-friendly design.
After the completion of the park's multi-story parking garage project, the sports field on Renai Road will be restored to its original state, and a covered sports field will be added. However, during the construction period, the public is requested to cooperate with the school's dismissal time for school sports. As for the tennis court, because the school can provide fewer tennis courts, in addition to schools in Pingtung City, Pingtung Sports Park also provides 5 tennis courts for public use.
The county government's Department of Transportation and Tourism stated that after the completion and commissioning of the Pingtung Park multi-story parking garage, it will be combined with relevant preferential measures for city bus routes, connecting various tourist attractions in Pingtung City. This will not only revitalize parking spaces but also enhance the tourism and public transportation efficiency in the Pingtung area. Advanced information and communication technology will also be introduced, using intelligent management services to improve the efficiency of parking lot operations and increase the convenience for people to find parking spaces.
