These specifications have a normative role for the technical requirements and performance requirements of mechanical parking equipment, as well as related supporting facilities. The "Technical Specifications for Mechanical Automated Parking Garages" apply to the planning, design, construction, use, and maintenance of newly built, expanded, and renovated parking garages.

Mechanical automated parking garages should accommodate large vehicles and should allocate 1/5 or more mechanical parking spaces to accommodate vehicles reaching the height of buses (K-type vehicles).

The total time for consecutive vehicle exits or entries in a public mechanical parking garage should not exceed 2 hours (120 minutes).
