GB17907-2010 "General Safety Requirements for Mechanical Parking Equipment" puts forward some basic safety requirements for the design, manufacturing, inspection, and use of automated parking garages, promoting the safe use of such facilities. Shandong Laigang Tada Parking Garage Co., Ltd. participated in the drafting of this national standard. The standard also specifies the size requirements for automated parking garages.
Standards influencing the design and use of multi-story parking garages include national standards (GB), industry standards (JB), and local standards (DB). A thorough understanding of these standards is highly beneficial for promoting the proper use of multi-story parking garages, improving user experience, and reducing safety risks. The "General Safety Requirements for Mechanical Parking Equipment" is a national standard related to multi-story parking garages, outlining basic safety requirements for design, manufacturing, inspection, and use.
What are the main safety hazards and risks of multi-story parking garages?
1. Potential harm to individuals when the equipment is stationary or in operation;
2. Accidental vehicle falls and damage;
3. Overall or partial loss of stability in the load-bearing metal structure;
4. Fatigue damage to load-bearing metal structures and transmission components;
5. Malfunctions in the mechanical transmission system;
6. Malfunctions in the electrical and hydraulic systems;
Safety requirements for multi-story parking garage entrances/exits
Appropriate safety signs (including prohibition signs, warning signs, and instruction signs) should be placed in clearly visible locations at the entrances/exits, control rooms, maintenance areas, electrical cabinets, etc., and should comply with the provisions of GB2894 and GB16179. Parking equipment management personnel should prohibit vehicles that do not meet the design specifications from entering. Near the entrances/exits, the permitted vehicle dimensions and weight should be clearly marked to allow drivers to make correct judgments before entering. Safety signs and precautions should be marked in a prominent location on the parking equipment. If necessary, parking equipment operators should convey this information verbally to the vehicle owner.
The width of the parking equipment entrance/exit should be greater than the width of the vehicle to be parked plus 500mm (excluding the width of the rearview mirrors), but not less than 2250mm. The height of the entrance/exit for semi-automatic and manned parking equipment should not be less than 1800mm; the height of the entrance/exit for the working area of unmanned parking equipment should not be less than 1600mm; the height of the entrance/exit for parking equipment accommodating passenger vehicles should not be less than the height of the vehicle to be parked plus 100mm.
If a work area door is not installed at the entrance/exit, and there is a possibility of personnel falling from a height of more than 500mm, a railing door should be installed. The height and grid size of the railing door should comply with the provisions of Figure 3. This requirement may be waived if the height difference is temporary and there is an operator present.
Multi-story parking garage size requirements
Relevant width dimensions in multi-story parking garages: For vehicles moved into parking spaces by a transporter, the width should not be less than the full width of the vehicle to be parked plus 150mm (including the width of the rearview mirrors); for those with a centering device, it should not be less than the full width of the vehicle to be parked plus 50mm; for vehicles driving into parking spaces themselves, it should not be less than the width of the vehicle to be parked plus 500mm (excluding the width of the rearview mirrors).
Relevant length dimensions in multi-story parking garages: Should not be less than the full length of the vehicle to be parked plus 200mm.
Relevant height dimensions in multi-story parking garages: Should be less than the sum of the height of the vehicle to be parked and the height required for lifting and lowering actions during vehicle storage and retrieval plus 50mm.
Electrical requirements for multi-story parking garages
Multi-story parking equipment The electrical system should ensure accurate and reliable transmission and control performance, preventing hazards caused by the electrical equipment itself or hazards caused by damage to electrical equipment due to mechanical movement. When using multi-strand single-core wires for power lines, the cross-sectional area should not be less than 1.5mm²; when using multi-strand multi-core wires, the cross-sectional area should not be less than 1.0mm². Multi-story parking garages should be equipped with safety protection devices, and these devices should be regularly inspected and maintained during use to ensure normal operating performance. If any performance abnormalities are found, repairs or replacements should be carried out immediately.
The responsibilities of multi-story parking garage management and operating personnel should include:
1. For equipment designated for operation by specialized personnel, other personnel are prohibited from operating it independently;
2. The person in charge of the parking equipment should manage the safe operation of the equipment and conduct routine inspections before and after operation;
3. Carefully read the instruction manual, follow safety precautions, and confirm safety before operating the equipment;
4. Operation is prohibited while under the influence of alcohol;
5. Maintenance and inspection of multi-story parking garages should be scheduled based on the frequency of operation, but not less than once a month.
